Friday Off

Today was a mediocre day as far as productivity. The day started with a back-ache that lasted all day. The pain made work on the storage room difficult, but I did manage to get the inside all complete except for finishing the window cutout. Now I just have the external trimming and I can say job all done, "Lets Ride".

I also manage to organize one box of odds and ends in the other room.

First Hike

Today I took my first real hike. I hiked the 3.5 mile Conuntry Club Trail in the White Mountains of Arizona. The trail was nice and although I am still quite out of shape, I was able to easily complete it. I did however manage a blister between my toes, which is a first for me.

An interesting quote

I don't know who to give credit for this quote, "Don't marry the person you think you can live with; marry only the individual you think you can't live without." I came across it while surfing the net. As I find myself in the midst of the end of another long term relationship, it is a poignant thought. I was chatting with a very special friend this morning, who just happens to be a key figure in one of my previous failed relationships. We have only recently become networked again here on this huge information highway. Hopefully we can keep the friendship alive as we continue along life's path.

Will I ever become a regular blogger?

In my thirties and forties I worked full time, often in excess of 40 hours a week. I often attended college classes two nights a week. I was a parent to two children and a husband to my wife. I still managed with all that to play an occasional game of golf and do other things that were strictly personally entertaining or rewarding. I often thought that I would still be a young man when my children were grown and I would have plenty of time to persue my personal interests, but I feel everyday like there is not enough time to do the things I want to do. I guess a lot of it is that I just don't have the energy, physically or mentally to do things the way I did when I was younger. Oh well, there is certainly truth to that old saying, "Use it or lose it."
